It’s that time again, just a few days to go until we are plunged into the never-ending month of January… (It might be just me but it always seems to feel like the longest month ever!)
What a crazy year it has been, so many highs, with a few obstacles thrown in for good measure – it’s all about balance ey! I started this year in a completely different way to how I’m finishing it. A bittersweet feeling as 2018 included the end of a very big chapter for me but equally, this year has taught me to be patient and allowed me to learn more about myself than ever before.
Sometimes this time of reflection can be overcrowded with negative memories and the urge to just start all over again with a fresh year. But it is important to remember, as we see others publically sharing their twenty eighteen highlights, not everything you see shared on social media tells us the full story. That said, we should still celebrate and embrace the positives of our year, no matter how big or small, as we enter a New Year filled with new aspirations and goals.
So, 2018, thank you for the lessons you’ve taught me, the experiences you gave me and the person you’ve allowed me to become in the last 365 days…

January: Started my year off in Brighton, in my favourite uni house with one of my best friends living down the road…
February: Took a trip back to Amsterdam, thanks to the wonderful Tea Tree and Witch Hazel who collaborated with me at the beginning of the year…
March: Learned how to ski in the French Alps… (Thanks to Sam for making sure I didn’t fall over the edge of a mountain)
April: Turned Twenty One and received an invite to the launch of The Ivy in Brighton…
April (always a busy month): Visited Prague with my two best friends to celebrate us all turning the big two-o!
May: Spent way too much time in the university library, but it was all worth it when the deadlines had been complete and I got to celebrate with my coursemates…
June: Had a relaxing holiday in Ibiza with Sam and spent the week drinking long island ice teas and doing not very much at all…
July: Graduated from The University of Brighton and spent the next month refusing to believe I had actually finished…
August: Celebrated my first ever Pride in Brighton and moved out of my favourite ever uni house…
August: Became a proud member of The National Trust (full granny mode once I had accepted university was over). Also, got to intern with Bobbi Brown and had the best week (I could’ve stayed forever).
September: Started my Masters in Creative Advertising…
October: Started to find my feet living at home again (thank you, Jodie and Holly, for keeping me sane)…
November: Continued the twenty-first birthday celebrations in New York City with my childhood friend and both our mums…
December: A short city break in Edinburgh with Holly, safe to say we both fell in love with the city…
… Also, I started a new job as a Social Media Assistant!
All in all 2018 has been a good one, I’m starting to feel more settled with my life post-uni and I’m learning to enjoy a bit of uncertainty and just going with the flow of life!
Thanks for reading!
