Top FREE Instagram editing Apps for Posts and Stories in 2020

Time to step up your Insta game…

Although Instagram is on a roll right now with endless filters, new fonts, interactive stickers and more GIFs than anyone could ever need, we’re eventually going to get tired of seeing the same few fonts and story styles. These free apps are perfect for creating engaging and influential stories whether you’re a small business, blogger or even wanting to create beautiful stories on your personal account.

While there’s literally thousands to choose from, here’s are my top free Instagram Story apps:

Mojo – ideal for dynamic video stories. Animate your frames with the click of a button (perfect for beginners).

InShot – simple video editing and perfect for cutting down long videos. (Top tip: click the little watermark to remove, it works every time so just ignore the pop up about upgrading.)

Unfold – minimalist story templates (great for bloggers!)

StoryLuxe – great for showing off multiple photos in one story, lots of free templates to choose from.

Over – the best app to use for adding images behind your posts shared to stories! (It took me weeks to figure out how people were doing it…)

Adobe Spark– free adobe software that’s easy for anyone to create graphics on-the-go, no design experience required! (Top tip: edit using the app for animations, this isn’t currently available on the desktop version.)

Filmm – Lightflares and vintage colour grading, a go-to for Instagram Story videos.

Lively – iphone users, use this app to turn your live photos into GIFs and videos.

The list could go on forever but these are the apps I’ve tried, tested and loved! Instagram stories are a great way to grow your business, following or just to experiment and find a style that suits your page.

I’ve used these for clients who have loved the outcomes so let me know which apps you use or which you plan to try in the comments down below…
